For the longest time I could scroll the ball up, but not down. It pissed me off to no end because I had to use that blasted, archaic scroll bar to the right of an application window (ex. Firefox). I had a classic case of the Gunk Funk.

HOW TO FIX:

1) Unplug Mighty Mouse.

2) Get a piece of Scrap paper.

3) Turn the Mighty Mouse upside-down, push down HARD, and ROLL THAT BITCH for a good 15 seconds.


And there's a "FUCK YOU" Resolution, for all you readers out there, brought to you by a pissed off Consumer.

To this day, I still use either a 3 button Logitech ball mouse, or a 3 wheeled Logitech ball mouse. Never had an issue, I doubt I will any time soon. Windows it just works, although I have to actually edit the config file to get the scroll wheel on Linux. Not usually a big deal. Don't suppose a cheapo Logitech would work on a Mac?

Yeah, it'd work. I guess it's the whole "If I got a Mac, might as well go Mac" complex. Although, in my case it came with the machine. Plus, I've gotten attached to the whole horizontal scrolling aspect of the mouse.

Here's something really retarded, considering this is NEW. My college decided to replace one tier of computers with newer, updated hardware, from a company called Ienovo. Instead of the typical scrollball, you have this horrendous little glowing blue button in it's place. You can use your finger to make it scroll up and down.... but it's the most innacurate, jumpy, erratic, atrocious piece of shit ever. I'm stuck using the scroll bar everytime I get a computer at this tier.

Nearly all mice have configurable mouse speed. It's usually a system preference of the OS you're using.

Configurable scroll speeds and buttons!? Blasphemy! Scroll at 2 lines per minute like real men. Real men without the cash to get a new mouse. And to think a laser is a spiffy new thing for me...
