I was just curious to know your comments on these. Normally I don't pay attention or like ABCnews but today these things just interested me.
Anyhow, comments please.
The whole thing about gas prices being a bargain is a little bit unpractical if you ask me. I'd have to look at the ratio of wages and prices of gas from the 20's and now to actually belive that. Also, I don't like how Stossel compared gas prices to that of water or ice cream. Mostly because I don't think people would be going to the store to buy something like 30 gals of ice cream in one go or even buy every month. Bottle water might be different, depending on where you live and how water conditions are.
It also kind of bugs me that people just assume anyone can just pull money out of their pockets and buy a whole new electrical appliances, "greener" cars, and/or a whole bunch of solar panels. Yeah we'll end up saving money in the long run but we need money to make the change to begin with. Maybe it'd be something to look for when buying a new home.
I'm sure most everyone would like to help reduce pollution and small things do help but I think it'd be cool if there was some sort of program to help get the whole energy saving idea get around. I'd love to get a car that had more gas milage but as long as I'm low-income I can only dream.
I would've checked out the carbon footprint calculator thing but I couldn't find bills to save my life except for my cell phone bills. Barely. My mother likes to collect junk for some reason.
Anyhow, if any of you can, I'd be interested if someone would check out that carbon emission calculator.
