Not even going to bother cross-posting this one. This is very much a "this is probably really only interesting to Steve" type thread. Comment here or comment there, either's fine.

C#? Aw. Well, at least I'll be able to write code, unless it's going to require a fancy magical editor to do stuff without taking a painstakingly long time. Mono 2.6 looks like it's going to have a C# 4.0 compiler, at least (odd, I thought Mono was further behind the times than that). Of course, if you're looking at .NET 4.0, then Mono is still probably 5 years away from implementing that. =\
So actually, now that I thought about it, let me get this straight. When deciding on a language that minimizes downtime, you chose something that will likely have to run on a Windows computer. Currently lolling. Maybe I'll try to get some C++ experience by porting it to Qt and QtScript, so it can run on Linux.

Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up. I meant more for minimizing the downtime of the game, because we won't have to completely recompile as often.
And we have Windows servers here at work that have been running for over a year without reboot. :)

Wut
Also: I'm having trouble understanding why C# of all things would be the appropriate language for writing this.
I have no experience with the project thus far, but I'm sort of curious.
Having to stop the game completely to make changes (which will happen) seems kind of fubar.
Edit: Went back and read your idea of using IronPython for reloading the game later, never mind shit seems sort of nice.
I don't mind learning C# if you guys want halp.
I have yet to really dick around with python, can't imagine its too difficult <fucking interpretive languages>
