So, I'm working on a MUD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUD) and would like some volunteers to help out with it. We already have all the developers we need, for the time being. What we're looking for are people with ideas, people who are willing to contribute time for area development, help us test new features, and help us with running the game.

Volunteers will need to post here letting me know that you're interested and I'll send you all the information you need to be able to help out. :)

Thanks!

As you know, I've been trying to make a game for ages but I lack the programming skills. I can offer my ideas, perhaps, if you'd like.

Ideas, area development, testing ... Any of that would be helpful. I've PMed you the details for the mailing list. If you want to participate, sign up. Be sure to read through the archives.

This would be completely and totally useful for the development of Finale X. If you have time and would like to look into the storyline, send me a PM or something. Also, for more in depth stuff about FX, contact Xesh (Ehgriez).

It's a storyline that the two of us have been working on for over 12 years that we are now ready to unleash on the world. Again, if you're interested in at least giving it a look at, let me know.

Feel free to PM me what you have. I can't guarantee we'll use any of it, really. We already have our own ideas for concepts and story elements that most likely wouldn't fit into whatever you have.

Here's some job descriptions to give you a little more of an idea of what we're looking for:

Idea Guys / Play Testers / Game Wizards

Actively participate in our mailing list and wiki by volunteering ideas and helping us play test new features as they're added to the game. Game Wizards will be heavily involved in the Administration of the game and will need to be willing to help new people along and get started when they first start playing the game.

World Builders

The people who physically do the work of building out the game world. There's an in-game world editor that you use to construct rooms, objects, etc. There's no programming knowledge required, but a simple scripting language may be used in the future in order to make effects.

And that's basically what we're looking for.

Well, we have a story, you have the ability to develop it into a game of sorts. When you get done with the current project, let me know. Maybe we can work something out to where we can contract you to help out in the development of our story.

I don't mean to be rude, I'm just not keen to the idea of our storyline being picked apart and pieces used when we've spent so long working on developing the entire background, etc.

If your project is a hit and you want to start a second game, let me or Eghriez (or however you spell it, I call him Xesh) know. We've been looking for a way to launch this for years now.

The world builder would run over telnet (I recommend an actual MUD client though). Both are readily available on Linux. There might be a browser-based editor in the future, as well.

No offense Xioz, but I don't think you'll be too successful trying to monopolize on someone else's project.

No offense Xioz, but I don't think you'll be too successful trying to monopolize on someone else's project.

On the contrary, I'm looking for anyone that would take our story we've been working on for 12+ years now and turn it into a game. He has the ability to do it, we have a story to do it with (he does to, which is why I was going to just leave it be.), and was only interested in contracting his team to make it.

Monopolizing would be to say that I had a better way of doing it and I would share this with him as long as he only worked on what I told him to work on. I'm only trying to outsource the game development aspect to someone who I know has a much greater knowledge of creating one.

However, if I have offended anyone working with Atrophius, or him himself, I sincerely apologize. I saw that you needed story ideas, and put it out there that Nathan and I have one that we've developed/developing. I'm just looking for people that would be interested, I'm not trying to twist arms or take anything over by any means.

We have almost nothing so far, story-wise. That's why I asked you to send it along. If it fits, great. If it doesn't, we won't use it. But, I can also give you a good idea of what it would be like to turn it into a full game if you go ahead and send it along.

We're working on getting everything transfered from a stack of notebooks to the computer at the moment. I'll send you a "brief" description of what everything is via PM.

I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to look at it, even if you don't decide to work with it.
