» Valkyria Chronicles
Feb 07, 2010 - 3:56 PM - by Gwen Nightsin

This fantastic game is brought to you by SEGA. Now none of you know this but I am a huge fucking SEGA fan-boy. I've played all the Sakura Taisen series (including the original saturn relases and the PS2 remakes), loved it to death. Even though I had no idea what the fuck anyone was saying half the time. I got more than half the LIPS system questions wrong and took me over 20 times to finish each game, but god dammit... I did it... with out a translation faq to boot! To me, that's an accomplishment. I also played a lot of Segagaga, but that discussion is for another point in time. Yet, I digress... back to Valkyria Chronicles.

This is a game about war... Plain and simple. I could go into the actual story but it's boring as hell and doesn't make for a very good anime. (Thanks Aniplex's A-1 Pictures!) If you really wanna know the story... [Read More]

Witches usually get a bad rap in the media. They're seen as wicked creatures in movies, culture, and occasionally video games.

They're the eaters of children...

Thieves of youth...

And, you know, the wives of Satan.

Though, with the release of Bayonetta, witches have a new angle: Sexy-asskicking-gun-toting-deadly-hair-machines.

After 500... [Read More]

» Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Jan 19, 2010 - 8:40 AM - by pariah

Admittedly, I’m a bit of a Silent Hill fanatic. I live for its twisted world of macabre creatures and bizarre plots. I currently own all the Silent Hill games despite its recent shortcomings in the recent installments in the series. Each time I pick up a Silent Hill game, I’m always striving to find that same dread I got when I wandered the streets of snowy-foggy Silent Hill and heard the radio spring to life with white noise for the first time. When I played Silent Hill 1-3, I was so freaked out by the imagery, I developed complicated system of turning the lights on and off when I made a mad dash for the safety of my bed and blankets. But, after Silent Hill 3, I haven’t quite found the Silent Hill that has the same terrorizing effect on me. Sadly, even Silent Hill: Shattered Memories has not recaptured the horror I desperately want back... [Read More]

» Jennifer's Body
Jan 04, 2010 - 1:52 AM - by Joss

Jennifer's Body is really just a teenage high school drama movie with Megan Fox eating people. I doubt I need to say more, but for the reviews sake, I will.

We'll start with the acting. It's pretty subpar, and pretty much what you expect from a movie of this type. Except for Megan Fox, as far as I can tell with doing no research there are no other big names in this film. The "kids" more or less play their highschool roles pretty stereotypically, and did I mention Megan Fox is not only gorgeous but she eats people?

The plot is also pretty thin. Right from the get go, you can start guessing what's going to happen. From Megan Fox (Jennifer) getting set up to have a demon penetrate her to when she goes after the main characters boytoy, it's all pretty... [Read More]

» Man-made Radiation (Part 2)
Dec 08, 2009 - 3:38 AM - by Zuru
On July 16, 1945 a white bright enough to challenge the sun was unleashed upon Los Alamos, New Mexico. It was the breath of the fire orange mushroom monster born from the greatest minds of all time. This vicious creature ripped open the door to the atomic age and left radioactive fecal matter before flying away. This was, of course, the Manhattan Project.

That same year, on the August 6th, an atomic bomb nicknamed Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima. Only 3 days later did Fat Man follow suit with Nagasaki. The a-bombs leveled the two cities and left nothing but fowl debris behind. There was nothing left of the people, the buildings, the plant life after the core impact. Afterwards, a radioactive rain came and washed the blood out with a blackness. Yet, there were survivors. Although a more fitting name would be sufferers. These people would come down with...
